The best time to begin prenatal chiropractic care is actually before you become pregnant!
Identifying structural shifts in your pelvis can help alleviate issues during pregnancy and birth. If you’re already pregnant, don’t worry! We can still identify pelvic misalignments and muscle imbalances that can contribute to difficulties during pregnancy and birth. To experience the maximum benefit of chiropractic care in pregnancy, we recommend beginning care as early as possible. Waiting until a poor position has been identified, waiting until a problem arises, or waiting until the last weeks of pregnancy to seek help may not allow the full potential of prenatal care.

Ideally, Webster-based chiropractic care by a certified practitioner should begin no later than the second trimester. Regular adjustments during pregnancy (weekly transitioning to bi-weekly during the last month) provide the best outcomes. Like a marathon, the sooner you begin preparing, the more equipped you will be for the big day!

The Webster technique was developed specifically for pregnant women. Contrary to popular misconception, Webster-based chiropractic adjustments do not “turn” breech babies. The goal of the adjustment is to balance the pelvis and associated ligaments, allowing for more space in the uterus and giving the baby room to move into a good position. In some cases where a short cord is present or the placenta is in an unfortunate location, a breech position is what is best for that child. Properly performed chiropractic adjustments only allow positions that are safe for both baby and mom.

We also work together with local midwives, doulas, and
other birth providers to help you achieve a
happy, healthy, and safe pregnancy and birth!
